The Hague, Netherlands – April 22nd, 2025 – Circularise, the leading product traceability platform for supply chain data management, announces its collaboration with Samsonite in launching two groundbreaking circular luggage collections: ESSENS™ Circular and PROXIS™ Circular. Released today, in celebration of Earth Day, these collections contribute to redefining sustainability efforts in the luggage industry by integrating advanced Digital Product Passports (DPPs), empowering consumers with unparalleled transparency into the lifecycle of their products.

More sustainable solutions in travel goods
The Circular collections are an outcome of Samsonite’s global sustainability strategy, “Our Responsible Journey”. However, ensuring that every sustainability claim of these collections was backed by verifiable data across a supply chain spanning over 30 global suppliers posed a significant challenge.
To address this, Samsonite sought a robust traceability solution capable of providing end-to-end visibility into its supply chain, extending up to Tier 3 suppliers, while offering flexibility in managing both internal and consumer-facing data.
Circularise’s platform emerged as the solution that fulfilled Samsonite’s requirements, enabling seamless data integration from suppliers and clear oversight of materials origin, incorporating more sustainable solutions, and regulatory compliance. Circularise facilitated the onboarding and management of data from more than 30 distinct suppliers, successfully overcoming significant logistical and communication challenges.
Unlocking data transparency
“True product transparency requires more than regulatory compliance; it demands collaboration across complex supply chains,” said Mesbah Sabur, Co-Founder of Circularise. “Our partnership with Samsonite demonstrates how product traceability and Digital Product Passports can unlock new business models while meeting evolving consumer expectations for sustainability.”
The Digital Product Passports—accessible via QR codes on each suitcase—offer consumers detailed insights into the manufacturing journey of their luggage. This innovation not only enhances trust but also positions Samsonite as a committed contributor to circular economy practices within the travel industry.
"Our circular project not only pushes the boundaries in maximising the use of recycled and bio-circular materials, but also pioneers the implementation of a Digital Product Passport in collaboration with Circularise. This innovative partnership elevates supply chain transparency to the next level, providing consumers with a deeper understanding of the origins and impact of our products. By setting a new standard for sustainability efforts in our industry, we empower consumers to make more informed and responsible choices," says Pauline Koslowski, VP research, innovation and development at Samsonite.
