Environmental Vehicle Passport

Does every vehicle component need its own passport?
No. A separate product passport applies only where legislation requires one. EV battery passports apply from 18 February 2027. ESPR measures for tyres and other priority products are still being developed; an integrated automotive display does not automatically need a standalone passport. Most components supply information for vehicle-level requirements.
Do suppliers have to disclose confidential information?
No. Manufacturers need reliable supplier information, but not all underlying data has to be visible. Controlled exchange, role-based access and verified attestations demonstrate what is required without exposing identities, processes or IP.
