The Hague, The Netherlands, April 20: Circularise today announces that it is now a member of Catena-X, an open network based on the Gaia-X cloud infrastructure initiative, which aims to enable secure cross-company data exchange across the European automotive industry.

Circularise will be joining leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers, dealer associations and equipment suppliers, including BASF, BMW AG, Robert Bosch GmbH, Mercedes-Benz AG, Siemens AG, and ZF Friedrichshafen AG as part of Catena-X Automotive Network e.V. to improve efficiency, accelerate innovation and decarbonisation, and thereby improve the efficiency and sustainability along automotive value chains.

“With greater traceability in both the product lifecycle and supply chains, companies in the automotive value chain can reduce the environmental impact in terms of CO2 emissions, mitigate the risk of product returns and recalls, and enable procurement of sustainable materials.” said Mesbah Sabur, Circularise’s Founder. “We are excited to bring our expertise in supply chain traceability on a public decentralised blockchain network and work with Catena-X members to create a uniform standard for information and data-sharing throughout the entire automotive value chain.”

In the European Union, new regulations from September 2020 raised the requirements around air quality and CO2 standards, the improvement of emission testing for cars and the support for alternative fuels and battery production. Together with the members of Catena-X, Circularise will address these areas by building a data infrastructure that can significantly boost efficiency and sustainability across complex supply chains.

“Catena-X is pleased to welcome Circularise to our association,” said Oliver Ganser, Chair of the Board of the Catena-X Automotive Network e.V.. “Contributions from members like Circularise are what makes Catena-X the premier network solving the toughest challenges in the automotive industry today. We look forward to working with Circularise's team to drive the development of a secure cross-company data exchange.”

Earlier this year Circularise conducted a end-to-end supply chain traceability project in which it created a digital twin/passport of materials used in a Porsche’s car in cooperation Alvance, Asahi Kasei, Covestro, Domo Chemicals, Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials, Sika, a global safety certification company UL, several metal manufacturers, and others. Next to that, Circularise partnered with BEC GmbH, Grundfos, Minviro, and the global Rare Earth Industry Association (REIA) to build a blockchain based Circular System for Assessing Rare Earth Sustainability (CSyARES). Circularise’s cooperation with the Catena-X network could be an opportunity to enhance the development of traceable and sustainable supply chains in the automotive industry.

On May 30th to June 1st Circularise will be at the Hannover Messe, one of the world's largest trade fairs with over 250,000 visitors, dedicated to the topic of industry development. Reach out to our team to get visibility into your supply chains, access Scope 3 emissions, and comply with ever increasing due diligence regulations.

About Circularise

Circularise is a supply chain traceability provider founded in The Netherlands in 2016. Circularise’s software system helps suppliers in chemicals, plastics, battery materials, metals, and other industries to trace materials and share their environmental footprint without risking their sensitive data. By extension, it helps brands to get visibility into their own Scope 3 emissions and other metrics, which is aligned with the regulatory push around Digital Product Passports, the German Supply Chain Act, and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
