What's your product's story? Are you sure?
In today's global supply chain, the most dangerous liability is a blind spot. For decades, when asked "Do we have verified data for everything in this product?", the honest answer has often been a nervous 'no'. With regulators and customers now demanding proof, that answer is no longer acceptable.
Solving this deep traceability challenge is the critical first step. But a new question immediately follows: how do you share that complex data with the world in a simple, credible, and scalable way?
Today, we’re excited to unveil an upgrade to our Digital Product Passports (DPP). Businesses can now generate thousands of compliant, consumer-friendly passports in minutes and update them continuously throughout the product lifecycle.
Why we updated Digital Product Passport
Our customers have always trusted Circularise for traceability. But with volatile supply chains, upcoming EU regulations, and complex global trade, companies faced a new set of challenges: how to build resilience, ensure compliance, and streamline the flow of goods across borders.
Without the right platform, teams struggled with:
- Costly delays and penalties from complex customs and tariff documentation
- Static information that couldn't be updated after production
- Missed opportunities to build trust with customers through transparency
We built this upgrade to solve these challenges, turning a complex mandate into your opportunity to build a more resilient, trustworthy, and globally competitive business.

A reality check for 2027: why waiting is not a strategy
The mandatory deadline for Digital Product Passports on all new EV and industrial batteries is February 18, 2027. That is less than 17 months from today.
This is not an isolated deadline. The EU’s regulatory wave is expanding, with the first ESPR requirements for textiles and tyres also hitting in 2027, and the financial impact of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) already becoming a reality for importers.
Waiting until 2026 to start is a critical misunderstanding of the task. If you have not started yet, you are already behind. Waiting will lead to three predictable consequences:
- Supply chain vulnerability. Without deep visibility, you cannot react to disruptions or provide the proof of origin needed for preferential tariffs.
- Implementation gridlock and inflated costs. By mid-2026, every company will be scrambling for the same limited pool of implementation experts, leading to rush fees and compromised timelines.
- Regulatory and trade lockout. This isn't just about fines. It’s about market access. Products without the right data risk being stopped at the border, halting revenue from one of the world's largest markets.
Waiting until 2026 to start is a critical misunderstanding of the task.
"Implementing a Digital Product Passport is not a simple software installation; it is a fundamental data and supply chain transformation. If you have not started yet, you are already behind.” - Mesbah Sabur, Circularise Founder
Meet the upgraded Digital Product Passport (DPP)
Think of a DPP as a living digital profile for your product that serves as a single source of truth for regulators, customs authorities, partners, and consumers.

Who benefits from DPP?
DPP is designed to create value across your entire business, from your supply chain team to your customers.
What your teams can achieve with DPPs
🧪 Sustainability managers at plastics & chemicals producers
Use case: provide the verifiable data your customers demand.→ Package the verified trace data for specific batches of polymers into a clear, compliant Digital Product Passport. This allows you to deliver the verifiable proof of origin, composition, and carbon footprint that your downstream partners require for their own regulatory and trade obligations. Follow the lead of innovators like Teijin, who use Circularise to treat traceability as a core business strategy.
"…the cooperation with Circularise helps shaping our strategy for scaling sustainable practices across our operations."— Philip Altena, Director Sustainability, Teijin Aramid
🔋 Compliance managers at battery manufacturers
Use case: automate compliance and meet OEM requirements.→ Use API integration to automatically create passports for thousands of batteries daily as they roll off the production line. Provide your automotive OEM customers with the verifiable data they demand and stay audit-ready for the EU Battery Regulation with ease.
🚗 Supply chain or sustainability managers at automotive OEMs
Use case: build a resilient and compliant automotive supply chain.→ Integrate data for the mandatory EU Battery Passport from your battery producers and generate the verifiable data needed to streamline customs, manage carbon tariffs, and simplify End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) compliance.
📱 Product and sustainability managers at consumer brands (electronics, appliances, luggage)
Use case: build brand trust through radical transparency.→ Go beyond a simple sustainability claim. Design custom DPPs featuring repairability scores and recycled content to engage directly with your customers. For example, world-leading travel brand Samsonite uses DPPs to connect with their consumers on a deeper level.
"This innovative partnership elevates supply chain transparency to the next level, providing consumers with a deeper understanding of the origins and impact of our products."— Pauline Koslowski, VP Research, Innovation and Development, Samsonite
How DPPs create value for your entire ecosystem
👤 The environmentally conscious consumer
Use case: make informed purchasing decisions.→ Scan a QR code in a store to instantly verify a brand's claims about recycled content and carbon footprint, building the trust that drives loyalty.
♻️ The repair technician and recycling operator
Use case: enable a true circular economy.→ A simple scan gives technicians instant access to technical specifications and parts information for efficient service. At the product's end of life, recyclers get the exact material data needed for proper sorting and valuable material recovery, turning waste into a resource.
