As the first DevOps engineering recruit on the team, you will have be in a unique position:

In this role, you will be tasked with the design, development, improvement, and maintenance of our extensive range of services and products. Your work will be instrumental within the Engineering teams, requiring a robust knowledge of systems engineering, design, daily operational practices, along with troubleshooting and incident management skills.

What you'll be doing at Circularise?

Overall you will...

As our first DevOps, your role will be instrumental: You will implement and champion best Developer Experience practices, working with developers to understand and overcome their obstacles.

Within 1 month you will...

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to architect robust platforms for running our services effectively
  • Assist Engineering teams in investigating and resolving uncommon issues (e.g. memory leaks, cpu / memory utilization)
  • Enhance and optimize the existing CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software delivery process
  • Conduct a thorough review of current DevOps processes, identifying areas for improvement, and rectifying any errors
  • Configure logging and monitoring processes to ensure efficient tracking of system performance and troubleshooting any discrepancies

Within 6 months you will...

  • Take a leadership role in assessing and improving our CI/CD pipelines, implementing industry best practices and cutting-edge tools to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of all existing processes, identifying areas for optimization and automation. You will establish standardised workflows, reduce manual interventions, and increase the overall release frequency and quality of our products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, QA, and Operations, to establish clear communication channels and streamline the deployment process.
  • Implement robust logging and monitoring solutions to gather and analyze system metrics, enabling proactive identification and resolution of performance issues.
  • Continuously explore emerging technologies, methodologies, and trends in DevOps, and propose innovative solutions to further enhance our processes and infrastructure.
  • Actively participate in knowledge sharing sessions, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the professional growth and development of the DevOps team as a whole.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement, promoting DevOps principles and practices throughout the organization.

⇒ Technical Expertise

→ Must-have

  • Infrastructure Expertise: A good track record in infrastructure automation, cloud services, and tooling (Docker, K8S)
  • Container Orchestration: Strong knowledge in container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Linux Administration: 5+ years of experience in Linux administration
  • Scripting Skills: Development skills in scripting / programming language (Bash, Python)
  • Cloud Providers Experience: Proven experience with working with cloud providers (like GCP, AWS etc.)
  • Monitoring Solutions: Experience with logging / monitoring / alerting solutions (ELK, Prometheus)
  • Infrastructure Coding: Experience and interest in Infrastructure as Code approach (e.g. Terraform)
  • CI/CD Knowledge: Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab, Github Actions)
  • Microservices Experience: Great knowledge and hands-on experience in Microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of ISO27001 or SOC II (or equivalent), and their impact on development.

  • GCP experience
